The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the gene from r-Mussel Polypeptide-1 (q.v.), r-Mussel Oligopeptide-1 (q.v.) and sh-Polypeptide-1 (q.v.). The fused peptide contains 216 amino acids and consists of the proper sequence of the standard amino acids.
