The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the genes from sh-Polypeptide-1 and Decapeptide-47 with the initiation codon for methionine. The fusion peptide contains 157 amino acids which may contain disulfide bonds and/or glycolyslation, and consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids.
