Polyurethane-25

¿Qué es?

Polyurethane-25 is a complex polymer formed by the reaction of dihydroxypolyoxobutylene (degree of polymerization 12-30), dimethylol propionic acid, meta-tetramethylenexylenediisocyanate, isophoronediisocyanate and trimethoylpropane. The prepolymer is neutralized with triethylamine and chain extended with C1-8 alkyl diamine

¿Qué hace?

Polyurethane-25 aparece en el inventario UE de ingredientes cosméticos con las siguientes funciones declaradas:

• Binding

  holds the components of a formulation together, especially in pressed powders and compact makeup

• Hair waving or straightening

  permanently changes the shape of hair through chemical reduction and re-oxidation of the hair's disulfide bonds

• Skin conditioning

  improves the appearance, feel, and condition of skin

Estado regulatorio en la UE

Polyurethane-25 está permitido en productos cosméticos en la Unión Europea bajo el Reglamento 1223/2009. No está sujeto a una restricción de Anexo específica en el momento de la redacción.
