Wat is het?

Polyurethane-25 is a complex polymer formed by the reaction of dihydroxypolyoxobutylene (degree of polymerization 12-30), dimethylol propionic acid, meta-tetramethylenexylenediisocyanate, isophoronediisocyanate and trimethoylpropane. The prepolymer is neutralized with triethylamine and chain extended with C1-8 alkyl diamine

Wat doet het?

Polyurethane-25 staat in de EU-inventaris van cosmetische ingrediënten met de volgende aangegeven functies:

• Binding

  holds the components of a formulation together, especially in pressed powders and compact makeup

• Hair waving or straightening

  permanently changes the shape of hair through chemical reduction and re-oxidation of the hair's disulfide bonds

• Skin conditioning

  improves the appearance, feel, and condition of skin

EU-regelgevingsstatus

Polyurethane-25 is toegestaan in cosmetische producten in de Europese Unie onder Verordening 1223/2009. Het is op het moment van schrijven niet onderhevig aan een specifieke Bijlagebeperking.
