Polyurethane-98

¿Qué es?

Polyurethane-98 is a urethane polymer that is made in several steps. First, a polyether diol is made by reacting 1,2-butylene oxide with Propylene Glycol. A second diol polymer is made by condensing Adipic Acid and Isophthalic Acid with 3-methylpentane-1,5-diol. These two polymers are mixed and then reacted with Trimethylhexamethylene Diisocyanate to form a polyurethane. The polyurethane is capped with Hydroxyethyl Acrylamide.

Polyurethane-98 aparece en el inventario UE de ingredientes cosméticos con las siguientes funciones declaradas:

• Binding

  holds the components of a formulation together, especially in pressed powders and compact makeup

• Nail conditioning

  improves the appearance, feel, or condition of fingernails and toenails

Estado regulatorio en la UE

Polyurethane-98 está permitido en productos cosméticos en la Unión Europea bajo el Reglamento 1223/2009. No está sujeto a una restricción de Anexo específica en el momento de la redacción.
